The We Are One Fund is a bold, inclusive initiative designed to sustain and expand gender-based violence (GBV) services across Zimbabwe. In a context where donor support is shrinking and the need for survivor-centered services remains urgent, the Fund offers a new model for financing impact—one rooted in local ownership, transparency, and resilience.
Our strategy ensures diversified, locally anchored funding to sustain GBV services beyond traditional donor cycles, creating lasting change for communities across Zimbabwe.
Secure digital platform enabling local and diaspora givers to support specific organisations or contribute to our pooled fund.
Tailored outreach and recognition opportunities that align social impact with brand values for meaningful partnerships.
Training in fundraising, social enterprise development, and impact communication to build organisational capacity.
Understanding the scope of the challenge helps us build more effective solutions. These statistics drive our mission to support frontline organisations.

AfricaGiving is committed to ensuring that all organisations featured on our platform meet essential standards of legitimacy, transparency, and accountability. To be listed, organisations must be legally registered in their country of operation and must operate as non-profit organisations.
Organisations must provide proof of official registration with relevant authorities in their country.
Verification documents may include certificates of incorporation, NGO registration papers, or other government-issued credentials.
Financial accountability is crucial for donor confidence.
Organisations are assessed on their ability to share audited financial statements, annual reports, and basic financial disclosures detailing annual budget goals.
Strong governance ensures responsible oversight and ethical decision-making.
Organisations must demonstrate a functioning board of directors or advisory group overseeing operations and established leadership structures.
Organisations must consistently communicate their activities, impact, and use of funds.
This includes project reports, impact statements, and regular updates shared with donors and stakeholders.
To be visible and accessible to donors, organisations must have clear communication channels.
A functional website, email, or social media presence to engage with supporters and maintain transparency.
Organisations undergo a structured evaluation based on these five key areas.
Each criterion contributes to an overall compliance score, which reflects the organisation's level of transparency and reliability.
High Score (85-100%)
ExcellentMedium Score (70-84%)
GoodNeeds Improvement (<70%)
Review RequiredHigh-scoring organisations signal strong transparency and accountability, while those with lower scores may be asked to enhance specific aspects before approval.
Formal agreement ensuring clarity on roles and responsibilities.
Before being listed on AfricaGiving, organisations must review and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SIVIO Institute, the parent organisation overseeing the platform.
To streamline the onboarding process, organisations must sign the MOU digitally before their profiles become active. This ensures efficiency, security, and ease of access while reinforcing a commitment to AfricaGiving's principles.
AfricaGiving ensures that every organisation meets our standards, empowering donors to give confidently and supporting non-profits in fostering meaningful change. Our verification process is designed to build trust with donors, partners, and the communities these organisations serve.
